Arthur Henry Graham Hoggarth RBA 1882 - 1964. Landscape painter in watercolour. He was born the second son of Arthur Hoggarth of Kendal, and after education at the local Grahmar school attended Keble College, Oxford where he obtained a degree in modern history. Hoggarth as a young man had cartoons published in Punch and other leading magazines. He exhibited throughout his subsequent career as an academic, showing works at the Royal Academy, the Royal Institute of Painters in Watercolour, the Walker Art Gallery, Liverpool and the Lakes Artists Society he also became a member of the Royal Society of British Artists. He was distantly related to the celebrated William Hogarth.
